Fans were rooting for Love Is Blind’s Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah — but after 4 years of marriage, their romance got here to an end.
The season 4 couple, who tied the knot in May 2022, announced their split on May 15, 2026, in a joint statement.
“It’s heartbreaking to share that our marriage is coming to an end,” Chelsea wrote in her a part of the Instagram statement. “This is just not the consequence I hoped for, and I entered this relationship with deep love, commitment and the intention of constructing an enduring life together.”
Kwame acknowledged in his portion of the announcement, “This isn’t something that either of us ever imagined, and it’s been one among the toughest decisions to make.”
“I poured my whole heart into this marriage and wanted it to work until the very end, but lasting marriages require greater than love alone,” Chelsea said. “I remain grateful for the life, memories and experiences that we shared.”
While some fans were shocked that Chelsea and Kwame have parted ways — especially because the news broke days after their anniversary — others saw the cracks of their relationship earlier this 12 months.

Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah’s Last Public Appearance
The exes were last spotted out in public together on the Love Is Blind season 10 reunion special for Netflix. Chelsea and Kwame documented the outing via Instagram on March 11 and March 12.
“Visiting the pods had me reminiscing and in my feels🩷… and now I’m crying. AGAIN🤧,” Chelsea wrote via Instagram on March 11, sharing a video recap from the taping. “4 years ago may not seem to be a protracted time, but looking back this feel like lifetimes ago 😩😭 I need these feelings, these moments, these memories locked in my heart perpetually 🔐🗝️❤️🥰 And I need time to relax out so I can always remember our journey, our love story. Love you Kwam 🥹.”
She added, “Watch me do one among my favorite things, cry on television 🤭😮, on the Love is Blind Season 10 Reunion airing in only just a few HOURS! 📺.”
Kwame posted photos from the event on March 12, writing, “The one where all of us went back to the start! 💕 🫶🏿.”

One month prior, the twosome attended Super Bowl LX on February 8 where the Seattle Seahawks beat the Recent England Patriots. “We’re on the SUPER BOWL! Truthfully a DREAM come true, GO HAWKS! 💚💙,” Kwame captained a video from the massive game.
That very same month, Chelsea posted photos from the football game in honor of Valentine’s Day. “Comfortable Valentines baby!!! My life with you is the most important most rewarding adventure,” she wrote on February 14. “It’s our 4th V day and I still have the most important crush on you. The day we got married, you became a Seahawk by association (lucky you). Now you’re a real 12, one BY HEART. 💚💙.”
Kwame Appiah and Chelsea Griffin’s Last Joint Instagram Post
On March 14, the previous couple shared a behind-the-scenes video from their time on Love Is Blind. “A lot fun 🥰 fr📹🎤🤩 ,” they captioned the clip, which Chelsea said was “the moment” she realized she “wasn’t about to marry a lame” guy and someone she couldn’t have “automotive jam sessions with.”
The video upload marked their last joint post together. Over the subsequent few weeks, each Kwame and Chelsea posted on social media solo with little or no acknowledgement of what the opposite was doing.

Chelsea Griffin’s Wedding Ring Disappeared
On March 18, Chelsea posted a photograph shoot of herself wearing all green, captioning the post, “It’s giving green goddess mermaidcore 🐚💚🪴🌴.” While many fans loved the photographs, some noticed that Chelsea wasn’t wearing her wedding ring in any of the Instagram shots.
One month later, Chelsea posted more pictures from the identical green-filled photo shoot, which added fuel to the split speculation.

She shared a series of solo photos, wearing pastel pink, in honor of her birthday. Eagle-eyed fans identified that Chelsea’s left hand was either blocked or cropped in every snap, making it inconceivable to see if she was still wearing her wedding ring.

Kwame Appiah Didn’t Pay Tribute to Wife Chelsea Griffin on Her Birthday
Kwame didn’t post on social media in April for Chelsea’s thirty fifth birthday. When Chelsea posted photos on her account in celebration of her big day, Kwame didn’t “like” or comment on the Instagram pictures, raising eyebrows.
