Baron Corbin might be making his way back to WWE, at the very least in keeping with growing speculation inside the company.
Over the weekend, Dave Meltzer reported hearing rumors that Corbin could also be WWE-bound once more. Fightful has since learned that there was internal speculation a few possible return over the past several weeks, with one WWE source describing the chatter as a surprising development that they had recently heard about. While nothing has been confirmed, Corbin’s name has reportedly come up amongst some inside WWE circles.
Although Corbin — currently performing as Bishop Dyer — has appeared for promotions corresponding to MLW, CMLL, and Maple Leaf Pro, he isn’t signed to an MLW contract, which Sports Illustrated also confirmed. That freedom allowed him to look for AEW earlier this yr as well.
Since leaving WWE, Corbin has formed a successful tag team with Donovan Dijak generally known as The SkyScrapers. While Dijak’s name has not surfaced within the recent WWE speculation, that doesn’t necessarily mean discussions regarding him haven’t taken place.
Sources inside WWE also noted that Corbin has maintained a robust relationship with the corporate since his release, and a number of other people reportedly said they’d not be shocked to see him eventually return.
