Boxing champion, the 31-year-old Claressa Shields has now been banned for all times by Jake Paul and Most Beneficial Promotions [MVP]. Claressa Shields was in attendance at Ronda Rousey’s comeback fight against Gina Carano last weekend. MVP was running its first-ever MMA event on Netflix, which was attended by several iconic celebrities and combat sports athletes.
While Rousey and Carano’s comeback fight was an enormous success and drew in huge viewership numbers, it also witnessed chaos and ruckus between Shields and her long-standing rival, Alycia Baumgardner.
It was on the event that Shields and Baumgardner were captured moving into an altercation, which soon got intense and physical. The clash finished with Shields slapping Baumgardner, before security arrived to separate the 2.
As a response to this, MVP announced that Shields would face a lifetime ban from the promotion. “Most Beneficial Promotions is aware of the incident during MVP’s Rousey vs Carano event on Saturday night involving physical contact by Claressa Shields toward Alycia Baumgardner. MVP maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for hostile, threatening, or aggressive behaviour toward fighters, staff, media, or guests at any of our events. Physical altercations outside the ring or cage are unacceptable in any MVP environment,” the statement read.
“MVP doesn’t condone, tolerate, or accept Claressa Shields’ behaviour in that setting, and it reflects poorly on MVP and ladies’s sports, which now we have worked tirelessly to uplift. Effective immediately, Claressa Shields is banned from all MVP events until further notice.
“There’s a time and a spot for fighter tension and banter, but to physically attack a fellow athlete while there may be a guest inside a non-public VIP area is unacceptable. MVP would really like to thank venue security for his or her swift response in addressing and de-escalating the situation and appreciate Alycia Baumgardner not retaliating and further amplifying the situation. We remain committed to maintaining a secure, respectful, and skilled environment for all participants and attendees at our events and can proceed to implement these standards without exception,” the statement concluded.
Claressa Shields’ last boxing match was on Feb. 22, 2026, where she defeated Franchón Crews-Dezurn.
