The Buffalo Sabres Need to Re-sign Alex Tuch
Scott Laughlin: “Freidge, last one here for you too, and Gord mentioned Alex Tuck. Did his lack of productivity within the Canadiens series cost him some money? And ultimately, do you see him circling back to Buffalo?”
Elliotte Friedman: “I consider that they’ll try all the pieces they will to get that done. Obviously, the 2 of them haven’t hit the sweet spot yet. I believe, look, he had a nasty series. There’s no doubt about it. I can’t argue with that, but Buffalo doesn’t get there without him, and sometimes all of us have recency bias, and we glance back on the final thing that happened. But overall, he’s been good for Buffalo, and Buffalo has been good for him.
I believe he desires to be there. I believe they need him there. I believe each side could have to compromise somewhat bit, but I believe the Sabres are also aware that one in every of the explanations they’d the season they did and won their division was due to big role that Tuck played with them. I believe they’ll look big picture, and I believe it’s going to take compromise on each side, but I believe each side need to get it done, and for that reason, I, until I’m proven incorrect, I believe that if each side are willing to offer up somewhat something, I believe it gets done.”
NHLRumors.com Note: One in all the prized free agents this off-season on the board is Alex Tuch. We saw players like Adrian Kempe, Martin Necas, and Kyle Connor sign for over $10 million. Is that an avenue the Sabres need to go along with Tuch? As NHLRumors.com has documented, Tuch spoke with the media on Wednesday to deal with his future.
NHL Rumors: Buffalo Sabres Have to Re-Sign Alex Tuch
Paul Hamilton: “Tuch said he just doesn’t know the way that is all going to unfold for him. He said he loves this team and playing here, but he’s going to do what’s best for him and his family and that’s crucial thing.”
We all know Tuch’s teammates want him back. There’s interest throughout the team in bringing him back. Now it’s on the Sabres GM and Tuch’s agent to work out a deal.
