For many years, Gwen Stefani has influenced fans across generations — including two wrestlers separated by years in age but connected through the identical inspiration.
Speaking on a recent edition of “The Nikki & Brie Show,” Brie Bella shared how attending a recent No Doubt concert sparked a conversation about just how impactful Stefani has been to performers contained in the wrestling world.
While Nikki Bella attended the show at The Sphere, Brie revealed that she missed out due to her schedule. Still, the conversation led her to reflect on how heavily Gwen Stefani influenced her wrestling persona during her WWE profession. She said,
“Sol Ruca and I were talking because I used to be like, ‘Do you get a few of your [inspiration] from Gwen Stefani?’ After I transitioned to Brie Mode, my mindset was Gwen Stefani because in middle school, I used to be obsessed along with her. With my wrestling gear, I attempted to mock her as much as I could, but additionally have something that was mine.”
Brie then revealed that today’s generation of wrestlers shares the identical admiration. She said,
“[Sol] was like, ‘Yeah, I’m obsessed along with her.’ You’re thinking that of how far apart in age Sol and I are, but we’re each inspired by Gwen.”
Brie currently holds the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships alongside Paige, while Sol Ruca is preparing for a serious opportunity as she challenges Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash in Italy.
