The suspense from Acorn TV’s latest mystery series is killing us in one of the simplest ways! Starring Brooke Shields and Amalia Williamson, the thrill surrounding You’re Killing Me has just begun, but, as with all TV show stuffed with high stakes, a little bit competition and a touch of murder, the appetite for a second season will only grow from here. So, is there a season 2 of You’re Killing Me?
Hollywood Life has the newest updates on the longer term of You’re Killing Me, what it’s good to learn about its debut season and an exclusive season 1 clip below.
What Is You’re Killing Me About?
The Acorn TV series follows novelist Allie (Shields) and her unlikely ally, podcaster and aspiring author, Andi (Williamson), in a quaint Recent England town, where murder and mystery unfold right in front of them.
The hilariously toxic dynamic between Allie and Andi is a central theme to the show, which Brooke exclusively spoke with Hollywood Life about on the red carpet premiere in Recent York City.
“Well, the butting of the heads was what made it really interesting since you’ve got two generations, very different, they usually can learn from one another,” Shields identified. “She makes fun of me, I make fun of her, and it’s in that that the dialogue starts, and it’s funny, you already know what I mean? It’s funny to look to not take those differences so seriously, but actually, learn from the opposite one.”

Meanwhile, for Williamson, the Letterkenny alum noted that her and Shields’ characters “need one another to achieve success in all areas of life,” irrespective of how different they’re resulting from a generational divide.
“I believe she has a extremely hard time at first, just when it comes to their generational differences,” Williamson exclusively told Hollywood Life. “Her mom left when she was so young, so I believe, at first, she finds Ali’s character really, really annoying, but then realizes she’s form of exactly what Andi needs when it comes to her profession, when it comes to her romantic relationships, after which when it comes to a motherly figure.”

Is There a Season 2 of You’re Killing Me?
Yes! Just weeks after season 1 premiered, Acorn TV renewed You’re Killing Me for a season 2.
Hollywood Life caught up with showrunner and creator Robin Bernheim on the season 1 premiere, where she said they’re “definitely … hoping for a second season.”
“There’s some stuff about how my generation pertains to things like AI and the way the generation that’s younger, how they relate to [it],” Berheim said while discussing how the show will hopefully extend past its first season.
While speaking exclusively with Hollywood Life after the season 1 premiere, Brooke explained what she’d prefer to see her character experience in a second season.
“I’d like to see Allie form of take the recommendation from Andi and free herself up,” the Princeton University graduate said, adding, “not only sexually … but she doesn’t necessarily give herself [freedom]— which quite a lot of mothers I do know, quite a lot of women my age, they don’t know the way to treat their very own selves higher and rejoice and be OK with being lower than perfect.”
As for Amalia, she weighed in on Andi’s relationship together with her family, primarily her mother who vanished years ago.
“I hope she takes the wisdom from Allie too, and really leans into the connection that they’ve,” Amalia told Hollywood Life. “There’s that maternal aspect to their relationship that Andi didn’t think that she needed, but she probably does. I just hope that she continues to learn from Allie and grow.”
