ANTIPOLO—Barangay Ginebra star Justin Brownlee was quick to present credit to Rain or Shine. And it’s not only in regards to the fight their semifinal rival put up.
Brownlee believes that the teachings the Gin Kings picked up after being pushed by the Elasto painters to 6 grueling games will help them as they pursue the PBA Commissioner’s Cup crown.
“This series is unquestionably going to assist with our intensity,” said Brownlee.

“Rain or Shine is a really intense team on each ends of the court. Coping with their physicality definitely gave us quite a lot of challenges.”
The Gilas naturalized swingman put up 31 points and 15 rebounds, bucking Rain or Shine’s hard-nosed defense to guide Ginebra to a series-clinching 118-107 victory.
Brownlee felt the sense of urgency of the Painters, who tried—but failed—to pull the series to a decider.
“We beat them nevertheless it was tough. This would be the hardest and most physical series, I believe, I’ve been an element of.”
“They’re just all-around tough, and so they really elevated our game.”
