Mick Foley officially made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2026, appearing on the pre-show panel alongside Renee Paquette.
Along with sharing his thoughts throughout the published, Foley also got physically involved in the course of the closing moments of the pre-show, participating in an in-ring segment with MJF.
Speaking in a while his YouTube channel, Foley reflected on making his first appearance for AEW and discussed his experience on the event. He said,
“There may be nothing fallacious with getting a nostalgia pop. I’ve received loads of those and so they feel good, however the response I received in Latest York was different. It was a response of, ‘We’re glad you’re here,’ and that I could still make a difference. By no means am I here to throw stones at WWE. I like the corporate, all the time will. I’ll all the time be deeply appreciative of each opportunity they afforded me, but there’s something unique about seeing the owner of the corporate just so obviously completely happy and excited.
“Mr. McMahon had a special way of doing things, however it wasn’t with that sort of joy. It looks as if, to me, the AEW wrestlers are on the market and so they are playing to win since it is known that failure it a part of the method. I’ve seen so many individuals through the years, almost petrified to walk through the curtain because they didn’t know in the event that they’d get the thumbs up or thumbs down. Tony is happy and loves what he’s doing. He’s completely happy to be there. That sort of enthusiasm makes me feel enthusiastic. After I did my in-ring promo, a few wrestlers said, ‘I assume you’ll be taking off now.’ What am I going to do, watch Friends reruns in my hotel room? It was an incredible show.
“The energy backstage jogs my memory of the best way WWE felt in the course of the Attitude Era where we were all actively pulling for one another, but we also understood that striking out was a part of the strategy of hitting monumental home runs. I’m really glad to be in a spot where wrestlers are encouraged to swing for the fences, and it’s understood that not every hit will leave the park. I’m enthusiastic about where this adventure goes to take me. I consider myself a Swiss Army Knife, and I might be utilized in quite a lot of alternative ways. I’m excited in regards to the future and I’m enthusiastic about wrestling in a way that I haven’t been in just a few years. I would like to thank the AEW fans and product for helping me fall in love with skilled wrestling all yet again.”
