TMZ reports that the clip was allegedly a non-public video that had not previously been shared publicly. Following the controversy surrounding Vasana Montgomery’s removal from the forged, she officially took to Instagram to handle the backlash. In a statement shared to her Instagram Story, Vasana apologized for using a racial slur in resurfaced videos from her teen years. She took responsibility for her actions and said she has grown since then.
She wrote, “I need to handle a pair videos from my teen years which have recently resurfaced. In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no such thing as a excuse for it, and I’m deeply sorry. I’m embarrassed and disillusioned by my words.
I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people. Since then, I actually have grown so much as an individual and brought the time to coach myself, listen, learn, and higher understand the impact that language can have. That growth doesn’t erase my mistake, and I’m not asking anyone to excuse it.
I imagine people ought to be held accountable for his or her actions, but I also imagine in growth, learning, and becoming higher. To anyone I hurt or disillusioned, I’m truly sorry.”
