A Realm Beyond Was Helped By Its “Loud And Consistent” Fan Base

The Xbox Showcase had quite a lot of cool reveals last week, but none were cooler than the return of Spyro the Dragon. Almost eight years after his last appearance within the Reignited Trilogy, Toys for Bob revealed that we’ll be getting a brand recent Spyro game in Spring next 12 months, finally giving fans of the purple dragon a brand new adventure to sit up for.

It was a little bit of a surprise, considering Microsoft loves to gather mascot platformers and lock them in a cabinet to die, but Spyro has been let loose after Toys For Bob pitched them a brand new Spyro game. As for why Toys for Bob picked Spyro, they were boosted by their work on the Reignited Trilogy and its impressive sales, and the ravenous fans which have been wanting Spyro back for years.

Spyro Fans Helped A Realm Beyond Grow to be Reality

Yes, in case you’ve ever seen people clamoring and whining for a game on a stream’s live chat pondering “wow, that can never amount to anything”, then consider your entire worldview flipped the wrong way up.

While Toys for Bob knew that there was demand for Spyro because of Reignited’s sales, it was also claimed in a recent interview with GamesRadar that the “loud and consistent” community around Spyro was certainly one of the fundamental things they pointed to when attempting to pitch a brand new Spyro game to Microsoft and Xbox.

“Yearly, every gaming event we hear the fanbase show up, like, ‘when is there going to be a brand new Spyro title?’ even before we had even pitched this,” says Toys for Bob studio head Paul Yan. “After we got here as much as Xbox and said, listen, here’s our plan, we said, ‘look, there is a community, it’s loud and consistent, they know what they need, you are here to make this game, what else do you would like, let’s get this thing going.”

So, you may now never say that complaining a few recent game is pointless, because Spyro fans have just proven that there is a small probability it could help get a game greenlit. So, with that in mind, boy would I actually like a brand new Nier, Titanfall, Banjo-Kazooie, and Devil May Cry. If I got those, that might be swell. Oh, and Destiny 3, let’s not ignore that.
