Steve Maclin’s TNA exit is now making more sense, due to comments from Matt Hardy. TNA announced on June 7 that Maclin and Myla Grace had each been released effective immediately. Maclin later confirmed that he had requested his own release the week before, ending a five-year run that included a TNA World Championship reign.
During a recent edition of his “The Extreme Lifetime of Matt Hardy” podcast, Hardy said he had expected Maclin to still be around TNA a bit longer.
In response to Hardy, Maclin had been in negotiations with the corporate but either side couldn’t reach an agreement that worked for everybody, so Maclin selected to ask for his release. Hardy also revealed that he only discovered concerning the departure on the identical day as TNA’s ‘Battle for the Brave’ event, which added to the surprise.
Hardy praised Maclin as talented, hardworking, and well-liked across the locker room. As for where Maclin lands next, WWE and AEW have already been mentioned. Hardy also brought up Ring Of Honor as a possibility and noted that Maclin has a robust relationship with ex-TNA President Scott D’Amore.
