Kyrou inked an eight-year, $65 million contract to stay with the Blues through the 2030-31 NHL season, and he’s being paid an annual salary of $8.125 million. The Islanders may ask the Blues to retain a portion of that quantity in the event that they ultimately pull off one other trade with each other, this time involving Kyrou.
Kyrou was chosen by the Blues within the second round (thirty fifth overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft, and would make his debut within the 2018-19 season, appearing in 16 regular season games.
