Jose Benavidez Sr. has publicly invited Artur Beterbiev and his team to start negotiations for a fight against David Benavidez.
The comments got here after Beterbiev recently discussed previous talks involving the 2 camps. Benavidez Sr., who serves as David’s father, trainer, and manager, said he stays able to pursue the matchup.
“Straight away, if Beterbiev is watching, their managers are watching, or whoever makes that call, I’m David’s father, trainer, manager. Let’s sit down. Let’s make those fights occur. Those are the fights that we have the desire to make,” Benavidez Sr. said to Fight Hub TV.
“We never got a proposal. Like I’m telling you at once, we never got a proposal. But those are the fights that we would like. I feel with all my respect, Beterbiev is an awesome fighter, man. He’s a really dangerous fighter. He’s top-of-the-line at once. Him and Bivol are one in every of the highest fighters, but those are the fighters that we would like to prove ourselves and fight.”
Benavidez Sr. added that there needs to be little difficulty in putting the bout together if each side have an interest.
“Let’s make that fight occur. That fight might be made in five minutes,” Jose Sr. said. “Those are the fights that we would like. We’re willing to provide the people what they need.”
David Benavidez became a three-division world champion earlier this 12 months when he defeated Zurdo Ramirez at cruiserweight. Since then, Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol have steadily been mentioned among the many potential opponents for Benavidez’s next fight.
“Let’s go,” Benavidez Sr. said. “We’re ready. Those are the fights that we would like.”
