The jets are designed and produced by Leonardo, considered one of Italy’s largest aerospace firms.
It’s unclear what number of jets Canada is seeking to purchase.
The leaders say the agreement will enable the Royal Canadian Air Force to coach in “state-of-the-art” equipment and construct sovereign training capability.
Earlier this 12 months, the International Test Pilots School of Canada ordered six Italian-made M-346 fighter jets for a brand new NATO training centre in North Bay.
