Sean O’Malley praised Pereira for his backstage speech to his family
The Brazilian has at all times been praised for the best way wherein he deals along with his losses.
And that remained the case on Sunday night, when his backstage speech to his family and friends was witnessed by Sean O’Malley, who scored a viral KO win over Aiemann Zahabi earlier on the cardboard.
“Alex Pereira being a legend, he said something to his dad and his dad was crying, his family was sad, he said ‘Hey, we’ve made other families feel like this, it’s our turn.’” O’Malley said on the Ariel Helwani Show.
“I used to be like, that dude is a legend only for having that perspective that quick after a fight and having that mentality, a whole lot of respect for that,” he continued.
Since Sunday night, though, Pereira’s attitude has seemingly modified, regardless that perhaps not towards Gane.
The previous light heavyweight champion has called for Herb Dean to receive disciplinary motion for his role within the fight.
With that, Pereira has also requested that in the longer term, the veteran referee doesn’t officiate any of his fights.

Dean attempted to defend himself against Pereira’s claim by releasing an instructional video explaining what’s thought to be a strike to the back of the pinnacle.
‘Poatan’ is hoping that the promotion will book a direct rematch, and he has stated that he’s targeting September for that possible clash.
Despite that, Gane has now earned the chance to rematch Tom Aspinall for the undisputed heavyweight title, and Pereira will likely need to wait for the culmination of that fight before he’s presented with one other likelihood to make history.
