Katy Perry Mocked For Latest Music Teaser

Katy Perry took to social media to share a teaser for her recent single, “Watch It Burn,” wielding a baseball bat as she sang in what seemed to be a rage room.

The snippet seemingly fell flat with some social media users, who slammed her for being “permanently stuck in 2010” and failing to evolve musically.

After enduring heartbreak following her split from Orlando Bloom, Perry has moved on along with her recent boyfriend, Justin Trudeau, and recently opened up about how the connection modified her life.

Perry took to her social media page to share a brief video of herself singing what appears to be an upcoming track, “Watch It Burn,” where she talks about giving unrequited love but being able to light all of it up.

The 41-year-old singer was wearing a black jumpsuit and dark boots while holding a baseball bat in what seemed to be a rage room, a spot where people go to let off steam by breaking and smashing things.

“You recognize I gave, and I gave / Now I’m giving up / There’s nothing more you may take / Don’t wanna cause a scene / But give me the gasoline / Tonight’s the night / I light a match,” she sings.

Several web users disliked the brand new song and took to social media to share their reactions.

“Why is she so incapable of making contemporary music? It’s like she’s permanently stuck in 2010,” a Reddit user penned, while one other wrote, “It appears like she asked an AI to make an edgy comeback song.”

“Girl. You could have money to only never release one other song ever again. Woman’s World was within the pits of hell – Please stop digging,” one user commented.

Another person added, “It’s actually giving kids bop. Like what within the autotune chat gpt is that this? I swear, when most pop girlies turn a certain age, it’s like they’re unable to supply bangers anymore.”

Meanwhile, the vibe on Instagram was different, as fans gushed concerning the teaser, with one writing, “Song of the summer!”

The past couple of years have been tough for the “Roar” singer. She was one in all the participants who launched into an all-female space trip, but she suffered essentially the most criticism from the enterprise.

The controversy eventually coincided with the breakdown of her romance along with her ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter, Daisy.

In an interview with Justin Tranter on the “UnFamous” podcast, she explained that within the upcoming song, slated to drop June 26, she was wrestling along with her “darkness.” She then shared that the track was inspired by events from the past 12 months.

“Last 12 months was pretty rough,” she began. “I even have not given myself permission to be offended my whole life over things where I ought to be f-cking offended about. What I’ve done is I’ve pushed it down, but I ought to be f-cking offended!”

The host then told her she was “allowed to be offended,” to which she replied, “I’m allowed to be offended for a f-cking moment!”

She went on to say that as an alternative of spiraling right into a “woe is me” situation, she allowed herself to feel the pain and anger, learn from it, and move on.

Perry Says Love Has Transformed Her

Despite all that has happened, Perry is doing well in her love life, having moved on with former Canadian leader Justin Trudeau.

Just weeks ago, the pair made their debut as a pair on the Tribeca Film Festival. They’ve also been spotted on the World Cup, where Perry delivered an electrical performance.

Speaking about their relationship on the “UnFamous” podcast, the “Dark Horse” singer told Tranter that it has been transformative for her and has completely modified her outlook on life.

“I even have love in my life now. That’s transformed me,” she said, adding that while phrases like “all you would like is love” may sound like clichés, they hold deeper meaning once someone experiences that type of connection.

“It’s such as you don’t know until you’ve gotten your baby how beautiful that have is and the way it transforms you,” she added.

The couple has been seen packing on the PDA since getting together. Actually, the previous Canadian prime minister skipped his country’s opening match on the World Cup to support his girlfriend by attending the U.S. game.

When he was called out online, he wrote on X, “Sometimes supportive boyfriend duties call. But who I’m rooting for to take the Cup,” alongside a Canadian flag emoji.

During their appearance on the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of her concert film, “Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris,” Perry spoke about how meeting Trudeau has been an “anchor” for her.

“I’m very in love. And really, that show was after I met the love of my life, and so I felt very anchored by that because I’m a bit bit like a rainbow kite,” she said during a Q&A session, per PEOPLE. “I fly super high and touch the veil… cosmos… and sometimes I have to be anchored. So, to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”
