Atlus has aired its first Persona 4 Revival Broadcast, a roughly 20-minute presentation that reintroduced the remake and detailed several changes coming to its battle system. The stream ran concurrently in English and Japanese and closed with a message from Persona Team general producer Kazuhisa Wada, who confirmed that the project is a remake of Persona 4 Golden.
Much of the printed walked through the fundamentals with latest footage, covering the story, the initial members of the Investigation Team, every day life in Inaba, the TV world, and the Velvet Room. Atlus used the remaining of the runtime to indicate the combat additions arriving within the remake.
The headline addition is Prime Time, a brand new gauge that, once lively, chains consecutive actions, drops skill costs to zero, and ignores enemy resistances before ending with a Prime Time Finish that deals heavy damage. The published also introduced field guarding, which lets players block an incoming attack after which strike a Shadow because it flinches for a preemptive advantage, together with a system that permits you to knock status-afflicted Shadows into others to spread the ailment. Baton Pass, the turn-handoff mechanic from Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload, returns as well.
Wada described the remake as having a unique “color” than Persona 3 Reload, framing it as a more stress-free experience built around modern design sensibilities. The presentation also debuted newly re-recorded versions of series staples “Reach Out to the Truth,” “Time to Make History,” and “Backside of the TV.” Persona 4 Revival is scheduled to release on February 18, 2027 for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, and it’ll be available on XBOX Game Pass on day one.
As someone who began playing the Persona series with the unique Persona 3, I’m so glad that Persona 5’s success has allowed Atlus to remake Persona 3 and now Persona 4. I actually enjoyed Persona 3 Reload, because it’s actually my favorite by way of story and characters. Still, I can’t wait to undergo Persona 4 Revival and hang around with Teddie all yet again.
