For Shubhangi Atre who has been a component of shows like Do Hanson Ka Jodaa, Havan, Chidiya Ghar, and Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain! , Father’s Day feels more personal than the rest. It’s not about big celebrations for her, but about sitting back and considering of all of the little things her father has done through the years. She says his presence has quietly shaped the way in which she looks at life today.
Speaking about him, she says, “If I even have to explain him, I’d say he is robust, caring, and really disciplined. He has at all times believed in doing the fitting thing, regardless of how difficult it’s. But at the identical time, in relation to family, he could be very soft.” She shares that these are things she has seen since childhood, and so they have stayed along with her.
There’s also a small regret she carries. “I feel I must have thanked him earlier for at all times believing in me. There have been times after I was confused or unsure, especially about my profession, but he never questioned me. He just stood by me. Today I understand how necessary that form of support is,” she says.
As she grew up, her understanding of him also modified. “Whenever you’re young, you don’t really see what your parents are doing behind the scenes. You simply benefit from the comfort. But now I realise how much he was managing, from family responsibilities to every thing else. And he never made it look difficult.”
One thing she truly admires is his patience. “He doesn’t react immediately. He listens, thinks, after which speaks. That calmness is something I actually respect. I’m still attempting to learn that from him,” she adds with a smile.
Talking about his sacrifices, she says it wasn’t one moment but a gradual realisation. “With time, I began noticing how he would at all times keep our needs first. He never complained, never made it obvious. That’s something you understand only if you grow up.”
What makes her proud even today is his honesty. “He has at all times lived with dignity and never compromised on his values. That’s something very rare and really special.”
If she needed to send him a message without delay, she says it might be easy and straight from the center: “Papa, thanks for at all times being there for me. I like you and I’m really grateful for every thing you’ve done.”
