Former India player turned commentator Aakash Chopra has questioned why Ravindra Jadeja has not been added to the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against England. He added that although the selectors have been saying that Jadeja is an element of their ODI plans, the veteran all-rounder has repeatedly been dropped as well.
Nevertheless, India will face England in a three-match ODI series, with the primary game to be played in Birmingham on July 14. Jadeja hasn’t been picked in India’s 15-member squad, with Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav being chosen because the three spinners as well.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “Ravindra Jadeja just isn’t there. Each time the choice happens, they are saying that he’ll proceed to play on this format and that he has a job to play, and that he might be needed, but they will not be choosing him in any respect. We’re repeatedly seeing that he just isn’t being chosen. When it’s the turn for selection, another person gets chosen.”
“Axar Patel has returned. Washington Sundar is a component of the team. That’s two finger spinners, and Kuldeep Yadav with them. So, what is going on with Ravindra Jadeja? If Jaddu had a slight fitness issue within the IPL, it’s been one and a half months, and so they haven’t mentioned why Jaddu’s name isn’t there. I find it slightly tough to swallow, or else the selectors have probably made up their mind about his profession,” he shared again.
“Prasidh Krishna has been absolutely outstanding” – Aakash Chopra

Nevertheless, Aakash Chopra also wondered why Mohammed Siraj hasn’t been picked for the ODI series against England.
“We have now gone with five proper fast bowlers – Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Gurnoor Brar. I don’t know why Siraj’s name isn’t there. Gurnoor has taken giant strides. He has performed thoroughly, and that’s why he is an element of this team. Prasidh Krishna has been absolutely outstanding. He took a five-wicket haul within the previous match. You desire to spend money on Harshit Rana because he has performed well and offers you batting at No. 8. Arshdeep Singh, it’s essential to have a left-arm option because you’re looking towards South Africa,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
