AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla has shut down speculation surrounding her relationship status, making it clear that she isn’t dating fellow AEW star Clark Connors despite online rumors suggesting otherwise.
“The Toxic Spider” captured the AEW Women’s World Championship from Kris Statlander on the February 11, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite on the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. Greater than 120 days into her reign, Thekla has continued to fend off every challenger who has stepped up for a shot on the title.
Speaking with TMZ Sports, Thekla addressed the rumors linking her romantically to Connors, a former AEW Trios Champion. While acknowledging that the 2 share a detailed bond, she firmly denied that they’re in a relationship. She said,
“Well, I don’t know where you truly picked that up from, that we’re dating. We’re very close. We’re very close, but we’re not dating. Don’t imagine every little thing that you simply see on the web.”
“I believe, I’m unsure if it’s idea, per se. Every little thing is sweet looking, and horny from what I can tell. But I believe it’s idea in a way that it’s obviously, it’s hard to probably date any individual who isn’t immersed in your world, as we live very strange lives as skilled wrestlers. So I wouldn’t wish to, you already know. It’s hard to clarify all that, all of the travel and all of the horniness.”
