Tony Khan On Purchasing TNA Wrestling For $40 Million – ‘Absolutely Not!’

Rumors have been circulating that TNA Wrestling could soon be in the marketplace, with sports business analyst Blake Avignon reporting that, “Anthem’s Len Asper has set a $30M floor for a possible sale of TNA, along with his preferred price within the $40M – $50M range.”

During Thursday’s AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door media call, AEW President Tony Khan was asked by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics whether he would have any interest in purchasing TNA if the promotion became available.

Khan first asked Thurston what price he had in mind. When Thurston responded with $40 million, Khan immediately laughed before giving a blunt answer. He said,

“No. It has value. It will should be the proper price. The video library has numerous great wrestlers through the years. Actually not the highest priority for me as an acquisition straight away. It’s not something I’ve had any serious conversations about. Like numerous things in life, it may very well be an interesting purchase if the value was right, but isn’t that true of so many things in life? There are numerous excellent automobiles that I’d like to have in my garage, nevertheless it would rely on the value.”

Khan then reiterated that a $40 million asking price can be a non-starter. He said,

“At ($40 million), no, absolutely not!”
