Ruby Rose Reveals Horror Pool Fall That Broke Her Ribs

Ruby Rose revealed she was rushed to the hospital after a backyard accident left her with two broken ribs. 

The “Batwoman” star took to her Instagram Stories with a video showing herself fastidiously edging along the narrow ledge surrounding her swimming pool while holding a garden hose. 

Rose had been attempting to water a piece of her garden overlooking the pool when all the things suddenly went flawed. She lost her footing and plunged into the water, striking her ribs against the pool’s edge throughout the fall.

The video captured the immediate aftermath, with the 40-year-old visibly distressed as she struggled within the pool and instinctively clutched her side in pain.

Despite the severity of the accident, Rose managed to inject a little bit of humor into the situation. “RIP to my ribs, and the remaining of my summer. They’re broken, multiple. Straight to hospital, didn’t pass go or collect $200,” she wrote alongside the clip, adding a laughing-crying emoji.

Rose later shared the identical video on Threads, where she reflected on how quickly an odd day spiraled right into a medical emergency.

“One second I’m here talking to you. The subsequent I’m within the hospital with two broken ribs. What a bloody Monday,” she wrote.

Years after the spinal injury, Rose admitted she still struggled to debate the ordeal due to emotional scars it left behind.

Talking to TV Week in March 2026, she explained that simply talking in regards to the accident would trigger an amazing response.

“The memories around it were so bad that I needed to put myself right into a trauma facility for 3 months in 2021, so I could learn easy methods to discuss what happened without fainting,” Rose shared.

The “John Wick: Chapter 2” actress described the experience as life-changing, saying, “It was a horrendous injury, and I used to be so very alone throughout the entire experience.”

Ruby Rose revisited one other frightening chapter earlier this 12 months while appearing in SBS documentary series “The Hospital: Within the Deep End.”

Through the program, she revealed she had previously been hospitalized following a devastating automotive crash that left her unconscious after being thrown through a windshield.

In July 2021, Rose made headlines after revealing that she was rushed back to the hospital after suffering “serious” complications from a recent surgery.

As The Blast reported, she explained that the medical emergency was made even worse by overwhelmed hospitals throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The movie star said the operation itself had gone well, but complications developed the next day, forcing her to hunt emergency care. 

“I did have a procedure, and I needed to have a surgery, however it was fantastic, and the surgery went well. But then yesterday, I had a couple of complications, and I needed to go to the emergency room,” she shared. 

Rose explained that by the point she realized she urgently needed treatment, an ambulance was called, however it spent hours looking for a hospital that would admit her because facilities had been turning patients away all night. 

Describing her condition as “quite serious,” she said doctors eventually accepted her after what she called “a little bit of a standoff.”
