Supreme Court Rules Against Donald Trump’s Executive Order
On Tuesday, June 30, the Supreme Court ruled against Trump’s executive order difficult the 14th Amendment. It declared that children born to people within the country illegally will not be U.S. residents, in accordance with PBS News. The 14th Amendment was created partially to ascertain formally enslaved people as residents.
“All individuals born or naturalized in the USA, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are residents of the USA and of the State wherein they reside,” reads the ruling.
