Josh Hokit has been studying Tom Aspinall’s tape ahead of a possible future clash with the champion.

Current UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall remains to be out of motion nursing his ongoing eye injuries attributable to Ciryl Gane last October.

Through the Brit’s forced hiatus, 28-year-old Josh Hokit has emerged as a particularly popular contender within the division, adding a much needed excitement.

On the UFC Freedom 250 card this past June, ‘The Incredible Hok’ scored the most important win of his profession up to now, knocking out Derrick Lewis within the second round.

Use one word to explain Josh Hokit👇🏼

Josh Hokit is widely considered certainly one of the cringiest fighters on the roster, but what do you’re thinking that of him?😬

Hokit claims Aspinall’s biggest weakness is his strength

Hokit’s 4 fight win streak since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series has seen him climb to rank five within the heavyweight division, seemingly on the precipice of a title shot.

To cement his spot because the primary contender, ‘The Incredible Hok’ has been campaigning for a clash against Alex Pereira next after their back-and-forth’s in the course of the UFC White House fight week.

That hasn’t stopped the 28-year-old from attempting to grow to be as conversant in Aspinall’s game as he possibly can, with them potentially set to clash in the long run.

And after watching tape on the champion, Hokit believes he has pinpointed what Aspinall’s biggest weakness is.

“He’s too offensive minded,” Hokit wrote in a post on X.

“That makes things exciting until a correct athlete is in a position to compete along with his athleticism. His strength can also be his weakness,” Hokit continued.

Although Aspinall has long been credited as some of the athletic heavyweight’s of all time, Hokit’s hand speed and skill to wrestle has seen him enter those conversations.

Despite Hokit’s eagerness to fight for the title sometime soon, he can have to attend for the culmination of what’s going to likely be a rematch between Aspinall and interim champion, Gane.

The Frenchman is hopeful of that coming to fruition in September in Paris, which is something Aspinall is in support of.
