Brook has not fought since a sixth-round stoppage of Amir Khan in February 2022, but the previous IBF welterweight champion says he could be willing to return for a long-discussed showdown with Chris Eubank Jr if the financial terms were right.
The comments resurfaced after Pro Boxing Fans shared the interview on X, prompting many fans to query whether the 40-year-old must be considering one other comeback after spending a lot of the past six years in retirement.
Brook has boxed only twice because the start of 2020, defeating Mark DeLuca in February 2020 before ending his rivalry with Khan two years later. He has repeatedly spoken about having fun with retirement, but admitted there’s one fight that might still tempt him back into the ring.
“Absolutely. You realize, if the best offer comes, I’ll fight because we’ve got history, Chris Eubank and I,” Brook said to Boxing King Media.
“The offer still stands. If we will be sensible and provides me what I’m price, that fight can occur. If it don’t, I’m completely satisfied.”
Brook and Eubank Jr have been linked for years but never reached an agreement despite periodic interest from promoters. Their rivalry intensified after Eubank Jr defeated Brook’s longtime rival Liam Smith twice and continued with verbal exchanges outside the ring.
Whether there’s real demand for the competition is one other matter. Brook could be 41 before he could realistically return, while Eubank Jr stays an energetic contender pursuing one final run at world level.
Unless a promoter is willing to make Brook a suggestion he considers worthwhile, his comments appear more prone to remain hypothetical than result in a comeback.
