Conor McGregor tears into Khabib Nurmagomedov in epic rant ahead of UFC return

Conor McGregor has declared that Khabib Nurmagomedov has ‘done nothing in the game’ of MMA in an epic rant.

Back in October 2018, the 2 legendary lightweight champions met within the highest-selling UFC pay-per-view of all time at UFC 229. Nurmagomedov scored a fourth round submission on the night in Las Vegas, after a dominant display against the Irishman.

McGregor had last fought within the octagon 23 months prior when he defeated Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, and had even left the game for a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. He claims that this played a large part in his performance, and insists that his rival never scored any major wins in his 29-0 run.

In a brand new interview with Complex, Conor McGregor was asked to match the legacies of Georges St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov. He laughed off the comparison, before tearing into his old rival in an all-time rant.

“Come on, the guy has done nothing in the game,” McGregor protested when the pair were brought up together. “13 fights he’s had in the corporate and three against name opponents, he had a fight with me and I used to be coming off the yacht.

“I used to be doing bad things on the yacht, yeah? I don’t even wish to say – I used to be partying heavy, I used to be as much as my eyeballs in court cases and all of this. I hadn’t fought in two years, I used to be value $200 million, I come back and fight this f—ing guy.

“I did 4 rounds with him, I had a broken toe. I’m sure you’ve seen the Netflix show where I broke my foot three weeks before the bout, this guy is nothing. And where is he now also? He’s gone.

“So I don’t rate him in any respect, no courage, the person has succumbed to his pain and it’s a damned shame! I even have nothing to say to him, nothing to say about him, I don’t rate him… Never fought above weight divisions, missed weight, three [major] fights, no stoppages, no knockouts.

“Come on, man. What number of knockouts has he got? Three or 4 [Nurmagomedov scored two KOs in the UFC and six outside of it]. It’s essential to be mad in case you think I’m going to waste my time watching that s—.

“His first half of his work was fighting on his father’s shows in the midst of nowhere in wherever he’s from, right? He’s 12-0, the opponent he’s fighting is 0-0! This isn’t boxing, I don’t rate him.”
