Conor McGregor has told Alex Pereira that he should let go of his consistent attack on referee Herb Dean.

Pereira was knocked out by Ciryl Gane within the important event of UFC Freedom 250 on the White House as he attempted to win an unprecedented third world title in a move to heavyweight. A number of the shots landed at the top seemed to be to the back of the pinnacle, and the Brazilian has been on the warpath ever since.

McGregor isn’t any stranger to losing UFC fights on the most important stage, but is renowned for his ability to take things on the chin and regroup. So when he got the prospect to talk to Pereira, he had some key advice for the two-weight champion.

Backstage on the UFC 329 ceremonial weigh-ins was a walk through MMA memory lane for Conor McGregor. He met along with his old The Ultimate Fighter rival Urijah Faber before attending to see the brand new generation’s star in Alex Pereira.

There’s an obvious language barrier between the 2, likely made harder through McGregor’s thick Dublin accent. Nevertheless, he managed to get his message across to the Brazilian and provides his two cents on the Herb Dean feud.

“You’re doing great brother, keep going,” McGregor told the previous light-heavyweight and middleweight champion, before moving into his thoughts on the stoppage. “Unlucky last time, back of the pinnacle, I see it. But let it go.”

Pereira has been doing the other of that in recent weeks, reposting seemingly any message calling for the veteran referee’s job. It hasn’t helped Dean that he has had numerous controversial calls within the weeks after the White House event, which have added to demand for his firing.
