A few days ago, television actor Rohit Chandel – known for shows equivalent to Pandya Store and Sairaab, was arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly stalking, repeatedly calling, harassing, and assaulting a 16-year-old girl in an eastern suburb. While a case has been registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, we now hear the makers of Sairaab are within the technique of replacing him within the Star Plus show.

Sagar Parekh To Replace Rohit Chandel In Sairaab?
A source within the know exclusively informed Bollywood Bubble that following Rohit Chandel’s arrest for allegedly assaulting a minor and a case being filed under the POSCO Act, the makers of Sairaab have approached Sagar Parekh to step in because the show’s lead. The brand new casting details are still being discussed and a confirmed name will likely be out soon.
Whether this will likely be a brand new character or whether Sagar will simply Rohit as Ishaan is unknown.
About Rohit’s Arrest Under POSCO
29-year-old Rohit Chandel – known for taking part in Baji Rao in Kashibai Bajirao Ballal and Dhawal Makwana in Pandya Store, was arrested by Mumbai Police on July 10, 2026, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The arrest was made following a grievance being registered by a 16-year-old minor girl. The minor – reportedly a co-actor, accused Rohit of stalking, repeated harassment, and physical assault
Together with the POCSO Act, the Pant Nagar Police have also invoked Sections 78 and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These sections are related to stalking and causing hurt.
As per a Times of India report, the grievance states that Rohit repeatedly contacted the minor using his personal phone number in addition to several other mobile numbers despite her objections. The minor also claimed that on July 5, the actor approached her near her residential constructing, chased her, argued together with her, verbally abused her and allegedly also hit her. Rohit was arrested from his residence last week and later produced before a special POCSO court, which remanded him to police custody because the investigation continues.
Neither the actor, his family or his representatives have reacted to the news yet.
