Andrea Bazarte has officially returned to AAA.
This week’s edition of Lucha Libre AAA on FOX opened with AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio addressing the group. Mysterio then invited former AAA interviewer and correspondent Andrea Bazarte to the ring for a special announcement.
Mysterio presented Bazarte with a brand new contract, explaining that it was essentially the identical agreement she previously had, but with increased pay to make up for the hardships she endured due to Chad Gable, the unique El Grande Americano.
Bazarte’s departure stemmed from the El Grande Americano storyline. Ahead of the Mask vs. Mask showdown between the unique El Grande Americano and Ludwig Kaiser at AAA Noches de Los Grandes, Gable demanded that Bazarte — Kaiser’s real-life girlfriend — be fired from AAA as a condition for granting the match. Bazarte agreed to the sacrifice so Kaiser could get the chance, and he or she later became involved within the Mask vs. Mask encounter.
With those events now behind her, Bazarte happily accepted Rey Mysterio’s contract offer, officially marking her return to AAA.
A brand new AAA Latin American Champion will likely be crowned following El Hijo del Vikingo’s knee injury.
After Vikingo was forced to vacate the AAA Latin American Championship on account of a knee injury that required surgery, AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio announced that the vacant title will likely be decided in a four-way match at TripleManía 34.
This 12 months’s TripleManía will happen across two nights, with the primary event scheduled for September 11 on the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the second on September 13 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
The qualifying matches began during this week’s edition of AAA on FOX. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. became the primary wrestler to secure a spot within the championship bout by defeating Abismo Negro and Texano Jr. in a Triple Threat match.
The victory also carries added significance, as El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.’s father, Dr. Wagner, was the inaugural AAA Latin American Champion.

Octagón Jr. is facing a lengthy recovery.
The AAA star has been sidelined since May after suffering a daunting injury during a Lucha Libre AAA match. While competing, Octagón Jr. took a top-rope swinging DDT and landed directly on his head, forcing medical personnel to position him on a stretcher and transport him to the back.
During this week’s edition of AAA on FOX, AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio shared an update on Octagón Jr.’s condition. Mysterio confirmed that the previous AAA Latin American Champion sustained a neck injury and said the luchador has an intensive rehabilitation process ahead of him before he can return to the ring.
In June, Octagón Jr. addressed fans on social media, commenting publicly on the injury and his road to recovery. He wrote,

Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano are set to hitch forces in AAA.
Starting on July 25, Lucha Libre AAA will launch its three-week Verano de Escándalo event. It has been announced that AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano will team up against two members of Perros del Mal, with Daga, Bronco Nima, Karmen Petrovic, Berto, and Angel among the many possible participants.
Although the 2 are scheduled to face one another at TripleManía 34, Mysterio made it clear to Americano that he doesn’t want Perros del Mal interfering before they get the possibility to settle things within the ring.
One other championship match has also been added to the Verano de Escándalo lineup. Laredo Kid and La Hiedra earned a chance on the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship by defeating Joaquin Wilde and Faby Apache, securing a title match against reigning champions Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana.
