A father has been charged with ‘recklessly’ causing the death of his own son after he was alleged to have dropped him through a hotel window.
The 37-year-old banker was arrested just hours after his boy fell from the fourth floor of the King Evelthon Beach Hotel and Resort in Chlorakas, near Paphos on Sunday.
The daddy was waiting for a lift with the boy’s grandfather, holding him by the waist and swinging him backward and forward as they waited for it to reach, the court heard last week.
The boy then fell from his arms and thru a window. He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
If convicted, the unnamed dad could resist 4 years in prison.
He had to tell his daughter about her younger brother’s death over FaceTime after his release was blocked on the last minute.

The dad, who appeared emotional as he sat within the dock, was accompanied by his father and mother, who needed to pay €20,000 (£17,000) for his release.
Toxicology reports found a really small quantity of alcohol, comparable to one or two drinks, in the person’s blood and the court will determine whether that is relevant.
Attorney General George Savvides decided to press charges for ‘causing death by a rash, reckless, or dangerous act or conduct not amounting to culpable negligence’.
The person was told he would have to supply the address where he could be staying and report back to Paphos Police Station once per week at an agreed day and time. He also had handy over all contact details.
A spokesperson for the Attorney General told the Every day Mail: ‘The Attorney General ordered criminal prosecution of the daddy.
‘He will likely be charged with causing death because of recklessness, amongst other things.
‘The daddy will likely be released, yet he will likely be subject to strict restrictive conditions, which can aim to make sure his presence in any respect future hearings.’
A relative told the Every day Mail: ‘He was a really special, easy–going little boy who brought a lot joy to everyone around him.
‘He was deeply adored, and his infectious smile, warm cuddles and type heart are already so deeply missed and at all times will likely be.’
The family hoped the person could be released so he could possibly be there to inform his five-year-old daughter of her brother’s death.
He was expected to be released on Wednesday but this was blocked on the last minute, and he was forced to tell the kid over FaceTime.
