Celebs Come In Support Of CJP Protest In Delhi’s Jantar Mantar

Shabana Azmi reportedly fell unwell during a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Monday while participating in an illustration in support of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The incident occurred a day after the actor had visited the protest site to point out solidarity with the continuing agitation. A video from the venue has since surfaced on social media, showing the 75-year-old actor appearing visibly weak and only partially conscious. Within the footage, several persons are seen supporting her by holding her hands and escorting her through the gang.

Students on the protest will be heard requesting security personnel to open a gate in order that Shabana might be taken to a safer area. After informing the guards about her condition and identity, they were allowed through. The actor was then escorted to a security cabin, where she was helped right into a chair. The rationale behind her sudden illness stays unconfirmed.

Shabana had first reached Jantar Mantar on Sunday, where she met CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and others participating within the hunger strike. Shabana Azmi, who joined protesters at Jantar Mantar, said Javed Akhtar had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to interact with the protesters. She revealed that the letter was acknowledged, but despite a promise of a reply, they never heard back. She shared that her husband, lyricist Javed Akhtar, had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to interact with the protesters. “We received an acknowledgement saying we’d get a reply in two days, but we never heard back. That’s the reason I’m here today.”
