This coming Saturday, the premier MMA promotion returns to the Middle East for UFC Abu Dhabi, headlined by a clash between Magomed Ankalaev and Bogdan Guskov.

Despite the high stake fundamental event, though, the fighter numerous fans are most looking forward to seeing is Valter Walker.

The Brazilian contender is on an epic run of 4 submission wins in a row since suffering his first ever skilled loss back in his promotional debut in 2024.

Walker’s last outing got here outside of the UFC when he grappled against the legless combat sports star, Zion Clark.

Ahead of his sixth fight under the UFC banner on Saturday night, Walker is hoping to proceed his incredible run of heel hook submissions, and he’s looking to duplicate Ronda Rousey‘s legendary run.

Before signing with the UFC ‘Rowdy’ Ronda gathered six armbar wins in a row before scoring her seventh in her inaugural title fight.

“It’s the primary time a heavyweight has (scored 4 submissions in a row), but in case you look back at time, Ronda Rousey pulled off eight armbars in a row and have become a champion,” Walker told UFC News.

“Why not me? Why can I not do the identical? If Ronda Rousey did it eight times why can’t I do it six or seven times? I’ll try.

“I don’t think Thomas Peterson has had enough time to change into nearly as good at defending the heel hook as I’m at attacking it. I do that every single day.”

Walker has been a particularly refreshing addition to a division that was crying out for some recent contenders.

The 28-year-old joins the likes of Josh Hokit and Gable Steveson as a kind of recent breed of heavyweight.

Despite the hype around Hokit and Steveson, though, Walker has put each fighters on blast ahead of his upcoming fight within the Middle East.

“Come on, (Hokit) is small. I’m not intimidated by that guy in any respect… Are you able to imagine? I beat (Steveson), climb on the cage, and spit in Jon Jones’ face,” Walker told MMAFighting.
