Kristian Prenga has broken his silence after almost springing a monumental upset on Saturday night.

The Albanian heavyweight was presupposed to be a tune-up fight for former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua, who has signed to box Tyson Fury later this 12 months.

‘AJ’ was dropped twice within the opening round as Kristian Prenga almost shocked the world in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Anthony Joshua rallied within the second round to viciously KO Kristian Prenga and save his boxing profession.

As talk turned to the most important fight in British boxing history, Prenga was left interested by what might have been.

“Sharing the ring with a champion like Anthony Joshua was a crucial experience,” the 20-2 knockout artist wrote on Instagram on Sunday.

“Maximum respect to him and for the victory. Round one showed me that we are able to compete with the perfect, but at this level, a single second changes your fate. ‘Defeat forces you to look within the mirror and learn what victory hides.’

“This fight doesn’t break me. I’ll use this experience to come back back much stronger.

“To my Albanian fans, I apologize for not bringing the win home. Thank God for every thing! 🙏

Anthony Joshua gives credit to Kristian Prenga

Anthony Joshua’s unconvincing comeback win was dissected by fans and pundits post-fight.

Many believed he returned too soon after the automotive crash that injured him and killed two of his friends in December.

Others suggested the 36-year-old’s punch resistance had gone after he was dropped twice by Kristian Prenga, whose 20 skilled wins have all come by knockout.

The person himself gave credit to his opponent when asked to clarify what happened on Saturday evening.

“I’m not going to bring personal, I don’t bring my personal life into this, but perhaps it does have a affect your subconscious,” Joshua told talkSPORT.

“But no, I try to separate the 2 of them, to be honest. But let’s not say the the reason why it was a troublesome fight was because of non-public reasons.

“Prenga is a very good fighter. He got here and showed what he’s about. So I believe Eddie [Hearn’s] gonna give him a contract and take a look at and sign him now.

“I give credit to Prenga. He got here, he wanted to beat. Strong guy, very strong guy.”
