Puneet Raj, who plays the grey-shaded Vikrant in Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, has been receiving appreciation from the viewers. His strong performance has contributed to creating the character memorable. Because the actor is getting praised for his work, he recently spoke candidly concerning the detailed process he goes through before entering into any recent character. Read a few of the excerpts from our conversation below.

Puneet Raj On Prep For Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile

Puneet Raj said his first step in preparing for a job is at all times to sit down down with the creative team and understand the character from every possible angle. He told Bollywood Bubble, “I at all times discuss my character with the creative team before the shoot begins. I ask concerning the character’s background—what form of person he’s, whether he comes from a conventional family, whether he has a rural or urban personality, and what experiences have shaped him.”

He continued, “Some characters could also be wealthy and successful but mentally disturbed, and folks can relate to them because they arrive across such personalities in real life. The writing team studies such people fastidiously, and that helps actors like us understand the character higher.”

Puneet: Looks & Body Language Complete Half The Performance

The actor also added that he pays equal attention to the smallest physical details, including body language, posture and dialogue delivery, as he believes they play an enormous role in shaping a believable performance. He said, “I discuss the body language, the way in which the character speaks, his posture, his dialogue delivery and even his overall appearance. I am going into every little detail because I imagine an actor’s look and body language complete half the performance. Acting is very important, but the way in which you carry yourself on screen makes an enormous difference.”

Talking about Vikrant from Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, Puneet revealed that he consciously created a rough and dominant personality to suit the role. He shared, “For Vikrant, I gave myself a wild look and a desi personality. He’s daring, dominant and believes that whatever he says needs to be followed. He sees the world from a totally different perspective and expects his wife to do as he says. I kept this mindset throughout while playing him.”

Puneet Raj: If You Stop Learning, You Stop Winning

Puneet also reflected on how different Vikrant is from a few of his previous roles. He recalled playing a soft-hearted romantic lead in Before You Die and one other gentle character within the Cannes-screened short film Amar Prem. The actor also hinted at an upcoming project, written by The Kashmir Files co-writer Sourav M. Pandey, through which he can be seen playing a fair more intense character than Vikrant.

He further revealed that before saying yes to any project, he fastidiously evaluates the role’s depth and scope. He said, “I also check the character’s density, intensity, calibre and screen presence. I ask myself how far I can take the character’s journey with my skills and the way much support I’ll get from my co-actors. Since I come from a theatre background, I attempt to capture every small detail. I strongly imagine that in the event you stop learning, you stop winning. Every character teaches me something recent, and I at all times look for methods to enhance. Only after considering all these items do I determine whether I should take up the role or not.”
