Alex Pereira isn’t the one former light heavyweight that has made the move as much as heavyweight.

In June, Pereira stepped on the scales at 251 kilos to finish his transition to the heavyweight division, having previously competed at 185.

The likes of Jon Jones argued that Pereira placed on an excessive amount of weight when attempting to construct himself into the burden class for his interim title fight.

‘Poatan’ was recently asked to make use of this experience with a purpose to share some words of recommendation to a fighter that’s trying to rejuvenate his profession on August 1.

Alex Pereira stresses the importance of size when making heavyweight move despite recent loss

After previously being a top contender in the sunshine heavyweight division, fans have questioned Aleksandar Rakic’s UFC future in recent times.

The Austrian has now made the choice to maneuver up a weight class after suffering 4 consecutive losses at 205 kilos.

On the morning weigh-ins on Friday, Rakic stepped on the scales as a heavyweight at 237.5 kilos, which is 32.5 kilos heavier than he was in his most up-to-date outing.

Alex Pereira’s heavyweight debut contained in the Octagon may not have gone to plan but he’s sure to have learned some necessary lessons from this setback.

‘Poatan’ took part in a fan Q&A that took place before the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC Belgrade, where he was asked if he has any words of recommendation for Rakic.

While questions have been raised regarding whether Pereira made the fitting call to realize a lot weight with a purpose to move up, he emphasised the importance of this.

“Moving up in that division, it’s really the burden since the training’s the identical and my body naturally moved up in weight and you simply sort of keep going,” he said, with the Q&A being posted by Fight 4 Yours.

Rakic won’t have the time to take this recommendation into consideration, but he has done what so many consider Pereira must have done by coming in under 240 kilos.

Fortunately for the Brazilian striker, it has been reported that Walker is booked to face Mick Parkin on October 3 in Utah.

England’s Parkin has worked alongside Ante Delija, who was originally scheduled to face Walker in Belgrade, as a component of Tom Aspinall’s team up to now.
