Casemiro insists there may be ‘no probability’ of extending his stay at Manchester United for one more season as he wants to go away Old Trafford ‘through the front door’.

United had the choice to increase Casemiro’s contract for one more yr but confirmed in January that the 34-year-old will leave the club at the top of the present campaign.

Casemiro has been one in all United’s standout performers this season and has been a key figure in midfield alongside Kobbie Mainoo during Michael Carrick’s time at Old Trafford.

Last week, Matheus Cunha added to the calls from United fans to increase Casemiro’s stay on the club for a minimum of one other season.

However the Brazil international has stressed the importance of leaving United ‘on a high note’ and says his ‘cycle has ended here’.

‘I don’t think there’s a probability, there’s no probability,’ Casemiro said in an interview with ESPN Brasil.

‘It’s leaving through the front door. It’s been 4 beautiful, wonderful years, and I’m eternally grateful not only to the club, but to the fans. I feel if there’s one thing I’ll cherish most from these 4 years here, it’s having the fans with me. But no, I feel it’s over. The cycle has ended here.

‘I’m moving on to a brand new chapter in my profession. I still have to make your mind up where I’m going. But I feel I even have to go away on a high note, I even have to go away on top. I shall be a lifelong United supporter here in England and I can only thank all of the fans for his or her affection.

‘My priority is to check with my family and see what they need. When I discussed coming to Manchester United, they were the primary to support me. My whole family was the primary to support me, so though they all the time say they’ll follow me and that we’ll be completely satisfied wherever I’m going, I want to check with them,” he stated.

‘I want to think things through with them, because decision-making may be very vital without delay. I still need to analyse things. Thank God things are going thoroughly and it’s been a superb end to the season for me, a superb season for me. But I still have to check with them.

‘In Spain, they’ve a saying: ‘to go away through the front door.’ And that’s all the time been one in all the good things I’ve tried to convey through the clubs I’ve played for. It’s been really great, really exciting. With each game that gets closer, it gives you that pang in your heart, that emotion. Nevertheless it’s been beautiful. All of the games, the training sessions too, the day-to-day. I feel it’s been a very beautiful story, especially this ending.

‘[Creating a connection with the fans] is one in all the goals once you arrive at such a giant club. After all, in the long run, you imagine one thing and things just occur. But this departure has been almost too perfect. I’m having fun with it, I’m having fun with it rather a lot, and I’m eternally grateful for what I’ve experienced here and for what I’m experiencing at such a giant club as United.’
