Model Anok Yai shot down speculation that she was the mysterious Met Gala attendee who allegedly urinated through her red carpet ensemble.
The Washington Post published an article on Monday, May 4, examining how Met Gala guests go to the lavatory of their intricate outfits.
Fashion stylist Mickey Freeman told the outlet that he had a client who wore a “couture sheer mesh jumpsuit” that was embroidered with hand-stitched Swarovski crystals and pearls to the enduring fashion fundraiser. Freeman didn’t mention his client by name, nor share which Met Gala the incident allegedly occurred.
Freeman, nevertheless, recalled how his client’s zipper got stuck before the massive night and he ended up sewing her into the robe. Freeman’s client later allegedly forgot concerning the “zipper situation,” with the stylist claiming that she tore a hole within the gown because “inevitably her bladder decided to remind her.”
The Washington Post speculated that the Met guest in query was Yai, 28, claiming that “Detective Google shows that … model Anok Yai wore an outfit that matches this description [in 2024].”
Yai, nevertheless, shot down the speculation in a fiery Saturday, May 9, social media post.
“I normally stay quiet and keep to myself, but … how dare you misalign my character and imply that I ripped my outfit and peed on myself through the Met Gala of 2024,” she wrote in a press release. “Fact check next time! Are you crazy?”
Yai further implored the Washington Post to “send” her any images to corroborate the claims.

Yai attended the Met Gala in May 2024 in a Swarovski bodysuit covered in 98,000 crystals and accessorized with 200 carats of diamond jewelry. She returned to the Met Gala on Monday, her seventh overall, in a Balenciaga gown that paid homage to the Black Madonna painting.
“That is the primary Met where I’ve done something crazy that I don’t think anyone will do,” she told Vanity Fair while preparing. “Nobody’s going to indicate up in one other prosthetic wig, right?
