Valter Walker wasn’t surprised to see Shara Magomedov receive a warning for pulling his opponent’s hair.

This past weekend, Magomedov defeated Michel Pereira in Baku after getting dropped by his Brazilian foe in the primary round.

The unanimous decision victory wasn’t without controversy as a result of the decision made by referee Herb Dean following a foul.

After Pereira called out Dean for not penalizing Magomedov, it appears that evidently ‘Bullet’ isn’t any stranger to bending the foundations in his favor in keeping with a former teammate of his.

Is it time for Herb Dean to retire from his referee role?

Valter Walker claims that Shara Magomedov would all the time pull his hair after they trained together

Referee Herb Dean only gave Shara Magomedov a warning on June 27 when he pulled his opponent’s hair contained in the Octagon.

UFC heavyweight Valter Walker recently commented on this as a result of him previously training alongside the Russian at GOR MMA in Moscow.

He claims that this isn’t just something that ‘Bullet’ did in training, but he was actually praised for doing it as a result of his relationship with the coach, Gor Azizyan.

“After I had long hair, each time I trained with Shara, he would pull my hair and knee me within the face while holding onto it,” Walker told Sexto Round, as translated by Sherdog. “I’d tell Coach Gor and he’d applaud Shara — mostly because Shara is his favorite son. I believe that’s really mistaken, and it was one in every of the explanations I shaved my head.”

Magomedov previously received criticism for getting away with a foul in his second UFC fight against Antonio Trocoli.

While he went on to stop Trocoli within the third round, a fence grab was highlighted by former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling.

“Possibly could’ve been a very different result,” Sterling wrote on X. “But now we’ll never know as a result of the ref letting that crucial moment slide.”
