Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan are delaying their co-headlining concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
“We’ve been, type of, sat with our teams and the promoters and the meteorologists all morning,” Horan, 32, began an Instagram video shared Saturday, July 18. “It appears like there’s a whole lot of severe weather in the world and a few bad weather conditions and thunderstorms threatening the show. So, now we have been, type of, forced right into a corner and we could have to reschedule.”
Rhett, 36, and Horan were scheduled to perform at Hersheypark Stadium on Saturday. As a substitute, and under advisement, the 2 musicians will take the stage on Sunday, July 19.
“[It’s] something we didn’t need to do, but we do need to stay on the town and a show for you guys,” the One Direction alum stated on Saturday. “If you’ve gotten a ticket, you possibly can come tomorrow. If you happen to can’t make the show tomorrow night, you’re going to get a full refund in your ticket.”
He continued, “We’re obviously said to need to do that, but that is what we’re gonna need to do.”
Rhett, for his part, noted that the fans’ well-being is paramount.
“We love y’all, and y’all’s safety is at the beginning our biggest concern,” the “Life Changes” singer added within the Saturday upload. “We would like to offer y’all of the show that now we have prepared. We just couldn’t guarantee that for tonight.”
Rhett added, “So, it’s a miracle that the venue’s available tomorrow, that me and Niall are each here tomorrow and so we’ll see you guys tomorrow night, able to freaking rock. We love y’all a lot.”
The 2 singers co-headlined a show in Nashville earlier this month.
“What on the planet. Nashville, I had the time of my life with y’all!” Rhett wrote via Instagram on July 10. “Should we do it again @niallhoran?”
Throughout the show, Rhett and Horan each performed their biggest hits before teaming up for a rendition of their “Old Tricks” duet. As well as, the country singer honored his growing family of seven in the course of the gig with a sweet “Life Changes” lyric swap. (Rhett and wife Lauren Akins are parents of 5.)
“I remember the day I told my Daddy and Mama, ‘You’re gonna have a grandkid, yep/ from Uganda, that’s right, we’re adopting / And he or she is the cutest little girl that you just ever seen,’” he sang. “Well, I used to be wrapping my head around being a dad / A giant wrench got thrown within the plans we thought we had / Now there’s Willa and sweet Ada James, and there’s Lennon and there’s Lillie / And baby boy Brave.”
Parents of 4 daughters, Rhett’s wife gave birth to their first son in February.
