India captain Shubman Gill has responded to former skipper Rohit Sharma’s plans to retire from international cricket after the Lord’s ODI against England. There was plenty of talk within the lead-up to India’s final ODI at Lord’s that Rohit would announce his retirement, but he showed he was still at his best with a surprising century as well.
“He’s not told us anything. I feel it’s all out within the media, but there’s not been any discussion like that within the team,” Shubman Gill said following the defeat.
Nevertheless, Rohit Sharma smashed 17 fours and 5 massive sixes in an innings of 138 from just 110 deliveries, as India fell wanting reaching England’s massive total of 387/3 in a high-scoring affair on the Home of Cricket. Rohit and Gill added 147 for the opening wicket in a fast solution to pace the run chase, but India didn’t keep the momentum going.
