Shane Mosley Questions Adrien Broner’s Focus

Adrien Broner continues dropping hints about returning to the ring, but Hall of Famer Shane Mosley believes the previous four-division champion’s biggest obstacle is staying focused.

Mosley frolicked with Broner this week and was asked how he looked as speculation continues after a three-year layoff.

“I believe that if he doesn’t lose concentrate on his goal and his dreams, then he’ll be all right,” Mosley said to Fighthype. “Sometimes he really, really need it and sometimes like he don’t hand over, but he’s still working, but he loses concentrate on what he’s attempting to do.”

Mosley left little question that he still believes Broner has the talent to compete. His concern is whether or not the previous champion will stay committed long enough to organize for an additional meaningful fight.

“He has the talents. He has the talent to have the opportunity to do some stuff,” Mosley said. “But I believe that his price, he’s got to point out that. He’s not showing that he desires to fight. He can talk like that each one day long. But he has to essentially be consistent, really be dedicated like he says he’s and he can do it.”

Mosley’s comments come after a recent video showed Broner carrying noticeable extra weight around his midsection, raising fresh questions on whether he has begun preparing seriously for an additional fight.

Broner has not fought since 2024. Three years away from the ring leaves loads of room for skepticism. Until he begins serious training and signs for a meaningful opponent, Mosley’s comments suggest the most important query shouldn’t be Broner’s talent but his commitment.

Adrien’s profession has never matched the expectations that surrounded him. Many fans once viewed him as Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s successor, yet he has fought only 4 times within the seven years since 2019.
