After Jana Nayagan Leak, Vijay Thalapathy’s Film Illegally Aired On Local Cable; Accused Arrested- Report

The controversy around Vijay Thalapathy’s much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan has taken a serious turn. What began as a web-based leak ahead of its theatrical release has now escalated right into a legal and security concern for the film industry. The political thriller, widely billed as Vijay’s final film before his full-time entry into politics, has faced multiple setbacks, from certification delays to piracy, raising fresh questions on content security.

After Jana Nayagan Leak, Vijay Thalapathy’s Film Illegally Aired On Local Cable

In the newest development, the situation worsened when Jana Nayagan was allegedly aired illegally on a neighborhood cable channel in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In accordance with reports, the film was broadcast on April 11 despite not receiving clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), making the telecast a transparent violation of law.

Following the incident, a member of Vijay Thalapathy’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), approached the police and filed a criticism. Acting swiftly, the Coimbatore District Police launched an investigation. Soon after, they arrested a 44-year-old man identified as S Palanisamy, who owns the local channel Raasi Prime Movie and resides in Karumathampatti.

Authorities confirmed that Palanisamy accessed the unreleased film illegally and broadcast it through his channel. Police produced him before a court and remanded him to judicial custody. In the course of the raid, officials seized several electronic devices, including a pc and multiple hard disks, and sealed the channel’s office as a part of the crackdown.

Meanwhile, the police have issued a stern warning. They stated that anyone involved within the illegal distribution or broadcast of copyrighted content, whether through cable networks or online platforms, will face strict legal motion.
