Israel Adesanya suffered his fourth consecutive loss when returning to the Octagon last month.

Adesanya immediately made it clear that he has no plans to retire despite not getting his hand raised since 2023.

While he’s clearly still motivated to proceed competing and testing himself, the likes of Demetrious Johnson have said Adesanya has nothing left to prove.

His long-time coach recently reflected on this latest setback and shared what he believes the following steps are for the previous two-time middleweight champion.

Who should Israel Adesanya fight next?

‘The Last Stylebender’ refused to retire after suffering his fourth straight loss at UFC Seattle.

Eugene Bareman says glimpses of the old Israel Adesanya have to be sustained following recent loss

Some have suggested that Israel Adesanya is facing a mental battle quite than a physical one following his recent loss to Joe Pyfer.

Similarly to several of his recent defeats, ‘The Last Stylebender’ had some great moments before his opponent was capable of turn the tide and finish him.

City Kickboxing’s Eugene Bareman made some hints about what’s going unsuitable for his fighter when commenting on what’s next for Adesanya.

“I do know where the changes must be made for Israel and I’m not going to speak about those publicly but you see glimmers, right? You see glimmers of the old Israel,” he told Submission Radio. “So, it’s nearly turning those glimmers into longer, sustained bouts of effort.

“He just has to do some soul searching, mate, such as you do after every fight. Every fighter after they lose has to tuck themselves away within the forest or in a dark room for twenty-four hours or whatever they do. They must figure life out in order that’s just what Israel has to do.”

The customarily somewhat cryptic Bareman could simply be referring to what number of viewed Adesanya’s recent loss, in that the fight slipped away from him when he began to interact in a brawl together with his opponent.

Nonetheless, Bareman talking about seeing glimpses of the old former champion that aren’t being sustained may be referencing his preparations, though this wasn’t explicitly said.

Adesanya isn’t any longer ranked within the division’s top five despite the undeniable fact that there have been each positives and negatives to remove from his recent run of results.

Bareman was seemingly about to suggest that getting back from this last defeat will take a whole lot of effort before cutting himself off and adding, “He has to seek out it inside him. He has to look deep this time.”
