The Vancouver Canucks and Elias Pettersson Must Have a Real Conversation

There’s got to be an actual conversation between the Vancouver Canucks and Elias Pettersson about where that is going and what the choices are

Donnie & Dhali: Elliotte Friedman, on the agent poll that the Vancouver Canucks are the worst-run franchise. That’s what happens while you finish last. That they had to pivot mid-season with the Quinn Hughes situation. Now, where to go?  They’ll need to sit down down with Elias Pettersson and see where they’re as they head right into a rebuild.

“Look, the underside line is that they’re losing. And while you’re losing, that is what happens. This is that this is where you get voted on.

And it’s been, and the opposite thing too is they’d to pivot through the 12 months. You recognize, when people say that the Canucks don’t have a direction, I feel it’s because they tried something and it didn’t work, it blew up and it didn’t work, they usually needed to trade Quinn Hughes, and swiftly, you’re type of drowning a bit, right?

And now they know that they’ve got a rebuild. They’ve got to start out all yet again. And, you already know, I feel when you’ve got years like this, that’s what happens. That’s what people take into consideration you. And you’ve got to expect while you finish thirty second within the NHL, persons are going to say you’re a poorly run franchise, and also you’re going and also you’re not where people need to be at once.

Your only option in situations like that’s to say, all right, how are we going to climb off the mat? How are we going to recuperate? I mean, the one thing I actually liked last night was Douglas scores his first NHL goal, and you may tell those guys were legitimately comfortable for him. In the event that they hadn’t celebrated that, I might have been really nervous. I might have been like, you’ve got nothing in case your teammates aren’t celebrating that.

So that you’re taking a look at your young guys. You’re attempting to construct around them. You’re attempting to construct around (Marco) Rossi. You’re attempting to roll around (Zeev) Buium. You’re attempting to construct around (Tom) Willander. You’re attempting to construct around this particular group.

I feel the most important offseason query there may be going to be, I might suspect there’s going to be a sit down with (Elias) Pettersson after the 12 months, and there’s got to be an actual conversation about where that is going and what the choices are. Like they, I feel they need to have a lengthy meeting, put all of it on the table and just say, you already know, you may’t proceed to have this conversation around your team for an additional 12 months.

You’ve mainly cleaned every thing out that you simply had to scrub out. It’s kind of just like the last item you already know, are you committed? Are we here? What can we do to get you back to being the player you were a pair years ago? Or does everybody really imagine that the best time is to confer with other places you’re willing to go? And you already know, to be honest, if I used to be the Canucks, I might facilitate that. Are there places need to go? Well, let’s provide you with permission to go and meet and confer with people on that team, in the event that they’re interested.

NHL Rumors: The Latest from Nashville, Toronto, and Latest Jersey

I feel that’s, to me, that’s probably the most important offseason thing now could be an honest conversation with Pettersson as representative and the Canucks. What are our options here? And if we don’t think they’re here, where will we go? Since you’re type of moving on from every thing that was hanging over you.

I feel the last query Rick is, do we expect this may still work in Vancouver? And if all of us do really imagine it, how will we make how will we get there? How will we fix it in order that Pettersson may be the Pettersson we saw a pair years ago.
