Lisa Hochstein Faces 5 Years Over Ex Lenny’s Interception Claims

This week on Legally Us, Rachael Bennett, a licensed family law specialist and senior attorney at Sullivan Law & Associates, breaks down The Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein and her ex-boyfriend Jody Glidden’s criminal charges in connection to her ex-husband, Leonard “Lenny” Hochstein.

Lisa, 43, and Glidden, 52, are each facing one count of interception of wire, oral, or electronic communications, in keeping with court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Monday, April 13.

On Wednesday, April 15, Lisa turned herself in to authorities together with her attorney Jayne Weintraub telling TMZ that the give up was voluntary and that her client “has nothing to cover” because the legal process plays out.

“That is pretty serious. They’re accused of secretly bugging Lenny’s automotive with a listening device. Now, some states require what’s called an ‘All Party Consent’ if you happen to’re going to record someone, and in Florida, that’s definitely one among the laws there,” Bennett explains to Us. “That implies that if you happen to record someone without their knowledge or permission, that recording is taken into account to have been obtained illegally in Florida. This is taken into account a 3rd degree felony, which suggests she could resist five years of prison time if she’s convicted.”

Based on the documents from March 12 to March 31, 2023, Lisa and Glidden allegedly “unlawfully and intentionally” intercepted, attempted to intercept, or sought to have others intercept oral communications involving Lisa’s ex-husband, Leonard ‘Lenny’ Hochstein, in addition to those he spoke with.”

Weintraub, together with Howard Srebnick and Frank Gaviria, Glidden’s lawyer, told Us on Monday that “This matter is a component of a contentious divorce proceeding and doesn’t belong in criminal court,” which Bennett says could “provide key context.”

“As everyone knows, divorces can absolutely bring out the worst type of behavior from even essentially the most reasonable people,” Bennett tells Us. “But this defense may be seen as an effort to downplay the situation, so I believe she’s going to should watch out not to reduce her actions here if these claims are true.”
