Edwards’ interview comes days after Cher filed for Elijah to be placed under a brief conservatorship following his legal troubles and struggles with addiction. The singer requested that fiduciary Jason Rubin take charge of her son’s funds, Page Six reported on Friday, April 17, citing court docs.
That is the second time that Cher has filed for a conservatorship of Elijah’s estate. In her recent court filing, Cher alleged that Elijah’s life “has significantly deteriorated” since her last conservatorship petition in 2023, which was denied in January 2024.

Elijah was arrested on two separate occasions in Recent Hampshire earlier this yr. In February, he was arrested on two counts of assault and one count each of criminal trespass, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct after he allegedly caused a disturbance at a prep school within the state.
