Here’s What Vince McMahon Used To Do Inside WWE’s Private Jet

A wild story from Cody Rhodes has pulled back the curtain on life aboard WWE’s corporate jet — and it involves Vince McMahon blasting John Cena’s music at full volume mid-flight.

Cena’s album, You Can’t See Me, dropped on May 10, 2005, and was way over a novelty project. He financed it himself, performed the tracks live, and leaned fully into his hip-hop persona. The album proved to be a legitimate success, peaking at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and eventually going platinum with over 1.3 million copies sold. It featured his iconic entrance theme “The Time Is Now,“ together with tracks like “Bad, Bad Man“ and “Right Now,“ all of which helped cement his “Doctor of Thuganomics” persona during his rise in WWE.

Interestingly, McMahon wasn’t immediately sold on Cena’s rap-driven character. Early in his run, Cena used more generic entrance music that didn’t quite match his personality. But once he fully committed to the gimmick — and proved that he could make it work — McMahon quickly got here around.

By the point the album was released, McMahon had develop into one in all Cena’s biggest supporters — and, apparently, one in all its most enthusiastic listeners.

Speaking on a recent edition of his “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast alongside Liv Morgan, Rhodes recalled a story passed down from his father, Dusty Rhodes, dating back to 2005 when the album first dropped. Based on Rhodes, McMahon once cranked up Cena’s album to full volume on the WWE jet during a flight. He said,

“When the album first got here out, when John did that album, most individuals know he self-financed it and did every little thing himself. When that album first got here out, Vince was such a fan of it that he played it on the company jet at max. My dad had just come back to work here and he couldn’t tell if it was a rib or it was like, ‘Oh, that is what these jet rides are like?’ It’s just so loud. Just like the whole flight, ‘What? John was on the flight too?’”
