Sportsnet: Friedman said on his 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, that the Nashville Predators are being mysterious and so they could throw a curveball.
“I actually have a sneaking suspicion that there’s a possible curveball there, that they’ve been either considering or talking to or someone we haven’t seen yet.”

Max Bultman of The Athletic: Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman said they need to vary some things, and get more talent. They should rating more, up and down their lineup, and possibly a little bit more definition with their lines.
“So, I’d wish to see us — in our bottom six, we want some production as well, and likewise to have some definition. Perhaps a real checking line or shutdown line, after which depending on what you will have in your top nine, you construct your fourth line a little bit bit around that. When you don’t have enough production, you then’ve got to get some production on that fourth line. When you’re not sufficiently big and hard enough or whatnot, you then need that. And truthfully, we want a little bit little bit of all of that.”

Yzerman said he hopes his team are watching the playoffs and seeing the intensity and determination needed to be within the playoffs in addition to getting there, and adds, “But ultimately it’s incumbent upon me and my staff to enhance the team.”
