Arman Tsarukyan is just not planning on toning down his antics outside of the Octagon anytime soon.
The highest UFC lightweight contender has enjoyed a quick rise to stardom in recent months owing to his activity away from MMA’s leading promotion.
While his wait for a UFC title shot goes on, Tsarukyan has kept busy with wrestling and submission grappling matches, along with livestream appearances which have boosted his notoriety.
During that point, the Armenian has continued to cause a ruckus with numerous controversial moments. But although some have warned of harm to his stock within the UFC’s eyes, Tsarukyan thinks the alternative is definitely true.
Can Arman Tsarukyan be trusted with a UFC title shot?
Between punching a fan at UFC 300, his Dan Hooker headbutt and the RAF brawl, is Arman Tsarukyan an excessive amount of of a loose canon for the UFC title?
Arman Tsarukyan uses Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz to say UFC ‘likes’ drama
In his latest match away from the UFC, Tsarukyan defeated Urijah Faber in Real American Freestyle. The results of that wrestling match was not the one talking point to emerge.
At one point in the competition, Tsarukyan carried Faber off the RAF stage onto the concrete floor. He was widely criticized for the move, which thankfully didn’t harm the 46-year-old MMA legend.
A few days before that incident, Daniel Cormier had warned Tsarukyan to calm down, suggesting that his antics put a possible UFC title shot in danger.
But while appearing on Patrick Bet-David’s podcast, ‘Ahalkalakets’ pointed to Conor McGregor’s feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz’s star status as evidence that the UFC supports “drama.”
“It’s good for the UFC,” Tsarukyan said. “You think that they didn’t prefer it? They prefer it.
“The game is getting big due to drama, not due to fighting. Like Conor, Khabib, Diaz… the trash talk, every little thing.
“Not only fighting, but what’s occurring before the fight,” he continued. “The bus thing (with McGregor) went viral too. Due to that, that fight (against Nurmagomedov at UFC 229) was the largest fight within the UFC.
“If it wasn’t for the conflict before that — yeah, Conor-Khabib, they talk s— within the press conference, they fight, it’s gone.”

After a heated build-up, the grudge match between McGregor and Nurmagomedov attracted a record total of two.4 million pay-per-view buys.
Diaz, meanwhile, was certainly one of the UFC’s top attractions up until his departure in 2022.
Despite Dana White blaming Tsarukyan’s antics for the choice to grant Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje shots on the interim lightweight title as an alternative of him, the Armenian evidently believes he has the promotion’s backing with regards to his wild actions.
