Injury Blow For CSK: Emerging Talent Out Of IPL 2026 With Foot Fracture

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh has been sidelined for the remaining of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 after suffering a foot fracture. The 28-year-old had only recently made a formidable debut in CSK’s eight-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) on the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, May 2.

The franchise confirmed that the injury occurred during that match, though no announcement has been made yet regarding a substitute.

“Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot through the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He’ll take no further part in IPL 2026. Get better soon, Rambo,” an official statement  read.

The all-rounder made a direct impression on debut, pulling off an excellent catch to remove Will Jacks early, after which delivering a disciplined spell of 1/24 in three overs, which included the important thing wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.

Ramakrishna Ghosh had also slipped on the pitch during his follow-through while bowling the very first delivery of his IPL profession, after being brought into the attack within the eighth over. On the time, it didn’t seem serious as he went on to finish that over and bowled two more without showing any signs of discomfort.

CSK will now have to review their team combination ahead of their crucial away clash against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday, May 5.

Multiple Injury Blows for CSK as Ellis, Mhatre, Khaleel Miss IPL 2026

CSK’s injury concerns began even before the IPL 2026 season got underway, with Australian pacer Nathan Ellis ruled out of the whole tournament. The team brought in Spencer Johnson as his substitute, though he’s yet to play a game.

MS Dhoni and Dewald Brevis also picked up injuries through the build-up to the opening match. While the South African all-rounder recovered from his side strain throughout the initial weeks, uncertainty still stays over the previous skipper’s calf issue.

Meanwhile, Khaleel Ahmed sustained a quadriceps injury, and Ayush Mhatre suffered a hamstring tear during matches against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), respectively. Midway through the season, CSK opted for Akash Madhwal as a substitute following a round of trials.
